The saxophone/drums formula is very unusual on stage. It’s hard to imagine a more minimalist situation than this, while it’s easy to think that things are more complicated than they seem. It takes great understanding and a solid personality to “fill” a stage with sound. Steve Wilson and Lewis Nash are broad-shouldered and confident in their career, which led them to play an essential role among the musicians of their generation.
They have just released an album (Red Records), recorded live at Museo “Emilio Greco” during Umbria Jazz Winter #21 (2013-2014).
