Farewell to Larry Monroe

Just one week from the start of the Clinics of the Berklee College of Music we have received the sad news of the passing of Larry Monroe. Larry was the Director of the Clinics from the beginning, in 1986, until 2009 when he retired. For 24 years.
For 42 years Larry was a pillar of the prestigious Boston college, transmitting competence and love to his students. The thousands of students registered in the Perugia courses have been able to appreciate his talents as composer, performer, teacher. To Larry, too, is owed the increasing success of the Clinics which, throughout the years, have become the pride of Umbria Jazz. For this we are grateful.
