Born in Talladega in 1964, now based in California, Alabama Mike is one of the leading bluesmen on the West Coast, as a singer and singer-songwriter. He shows great versatility in writing new blues music, exploring a vast artistic territory between gospel and R&B.
His main genre is classic blues, recalling legends such as Elmore James, Buddy Guy, Little Junior Parker, and BB King. That kind of blues made its name in the USA thanks to labels such as Chess or Galaxy. The Blues Foundation (Blues Music Awards) nominated him for Best Male Traditional Blues Artist in 2011. The Blues Foundation nominated him and the Hound Kings for Best Acoustic Blues CD in 2014 for the release of “Unleashed”. Alabama Mike is a perfect ambassador of a genre rooted in the heart of the American music tradition. He respects blues but wills to move the stylistic limits forward.
