The Hot Gravel Eskimos, led by multi-instrumentalist Mauro L. Porro – one of the main representatives of Italian hot jazz – rediscover the joy of tradition by performing well-known and lesser-known tunes of the 30s and 40s of the 20th century. It is a philological operation: period instruments, faithfully reproduced orchestrations from the old 78 rpm records and a stage presence inspired by the fashion of the Swing era.
