Beloved by audiences and acclaimed by musicians and critics as one of the most talented and innovative artists of modern times, singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Jacob Collier has taken the creative world by storm. His joyful, genre-defying discography, comprising five albums, has earned him six Grammy Awards and 15 nominations, including Album of the Year in 2021 and 2025, making Collier the first British artist to win a Grammy for each of his first four albums. Collier paints with a vast repertoire of musical instruments, crafting intricate harmonies, rhythmic forms, and melodic colors that build a multisensory world for his fans and collaborators worldwide. This joyful and infectious approach to music has drawn over 100 collaborators to date, including Coldplay, SZA, Brandi Carlile, Camilo, Malian singer Oumou Sangaré, mandolin virtuoso Chris Thile, and legendary composer Hans Zimmer.
The year 2024 has been monumental for the 30-year-old musician from North London. He began the year by winning his sixth Grammy Award and performing alongside Joni Mitchell at the ceremony. Djesse Vol. 4, released in February, received worldwide critical acclaim, with features in DownBeat and Rolling Stone UK. He served as music director for a special edition of Harper’s Bazaar, appeared on shows like BBC’s The One Show, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and performed at a special event at the Grammy Museum in New York with Jason Robert Brown.
Recently, he also launched custom guitars in collaboration with Strandberg and Taylor and took part in Joni Mitchell & The Joni Jam concerts at the Hollywood Bowl. For Collier, this marks a return to Umbria Jazz after his performances in 2016 and 2017.
