Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock at UJ15 on July 14
Umbria Jazz is proud to announce a very special event: on July 14 Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock will be performing together on stage at the Santa Giuliana Arena. This italian exclusive concert, reunites two of the greatest living pianists for a magical evening of music. Pianists Corea and Hancock first performed as a duo in 1978 on a tour that is documented on two famous albums, one of which was a double LP entitled “An Evening With Herbie Hancock & Chick Corea Live in Concert”. Since then there have been no other studio recordings, and there have only been three live performances: one in Holland in 1979, one in Japan in 1987, and one in 2011 at the Blue Note in New York on Chick Corea’s seventieth birthday. In 2013 they made their reunion in a worldwide exclusive concert at Umbria Jazz, this year a tour with the only Italian date in Perugia at Umbria Jazz 15.
