Lorenzo Hengeller

He is a songwriter and pianist from Naples who won the 2007 Carosone Prize. Hengeller takes inspiration from Renato Carosone, Lelio Luttazzi, Gorni Kramer, Fred Buscaglione, and Vittorio De Sica, both in his songs and the reinterpretation of the great classics of the Italian songbook of the 30s-60s, with a particular focus on the Neapolitan repertoire. Swing and irony are combined to produce an elegant, easy-going, relaxing lightness during his concerts. He is a gentle entertainer who rests on a solid musical foundation.

Many special guests appear in his records, such as Enrico Rava, Stefano Bollani, Peppe Servillo and Enzo Gragnaniello.

Flaviano De Luca from Il Manifesto says: “Pleasant and original… he flows between quotations and remakes, original songs and great classics, making the variety show repertoire super enjoyable”.
