Lovesick

Lovesick is an Italian band composed of two musicians from Bologna, both singers and multi-instrumentalists, whose influences are deeply rooted in the American country, rock’n’roll and western swing music of the 40s and 50s. Paolo Roberto Pianezza plays electric and acoustic guitar, as well as single and double-necked lap steel, resonator and dobro guitar. Francesca Alinovi plays the double bass with the addition of a brush pad, a percussion built into the double bass to keep the rhythm with a drum brush.

The Lovesick concert is a total immersion in America’s atmospheres of the 40s-50s: with their sound, clothing and vintage musical instruments, they touch the typical country music and rock’n’roll themes like love, betrayal and fun. The two musicians inspire with their tangible joy of playing and rousing stage presence.

In many years of activity, they have been invited to perform in Europe and the United States in festivals, clubs, public parties and private receptions, with almost over 120 concerts per year.

In 2021, they released the album with only original songs, “All Over Again” and “A Country Music Adventure”. The last one is focused on the golden age of country music through reinterpretations of some of the classics of the pioneers of this genre that inspired them.

Thanks to their strong presence on social media and the radio, they were called for the movie about Francesco Totti’s life, “Speravo de morì prima”, and in “Lamborghini”, where they are both present as actors and musicians.

In 2021, they received a nomination for the American Western Artists’ Award and the invitation to perform as guests at Casa Sanremo in the dedicated space directed by Red Ronnie.

After the recording sessions for their new album, they are ready to return on stage with Alessandro Cosentino on violin.
