Weave4 is formed by Francesco Bigoni (tenor sax and clarinet), Francesco Diodati (guitar and electronics), Benoît Delbecq (piano and bass station), and Steve Argüelles (drums). The French-Italian collective brings together two generations of world-class artists and longtime collaborators. Bigoni and Diodati (they both played in the Under 21 quintets of Enrico Rava) have been part of the project Neko.
Weave4’s first album was released in 2023 by Parco Della Musica Records.
Each member composes for the collective, bonding a wisely organized interweaving of sounds, organically transforming themselves with the ramifications triggered by collective playing. The pieces may not follow pre-established structures, but become malleable and flexible material, giving a new embodiment to the concept of “unfinished”.
