An important piece of history disappears with the passing of Wayne Shorter. He was one of the greatest protagonists of postwar American music. He was an innovative saxophonist, a brilliant composer, the heart and mind of countless formations that wrote history: the Jazz Messengers, the Miles Davis Quintet, Weather Report, and his most recent legendary quartet.
Umbria Jazz had the fortune to host him many times and remembers him with love, admiration and gratitude for the thrilling moments he gave us.
