A shower of Grammy Awards rained down on the protagonists of the 50th anniversary of Umbria Jazz (July 7-16, 2023).
Snarky Puppy, Stewart Copeland, who will perform at the Arena Santa Giuliana, Ranky Tanky (resident band UJ50), and Samara Joy, scheduled at the Teatro Morlacchi, are among the winners of the 65th Annual Grammy Awards.
The absolute protagonist of the Grammy ceremony was Samara Joy, winner of Best New Artist and Best Jazz Vocal Album (Linger Awhile). The audience of Umbria Jazz met and appreciated the singer in the last two editions of the Festival and will have the opportunity to listen to her again this summer at the Teatro Morlacchi.

Ranky Tanky, winner of Best Regional Roots Music Album, will be one of the resident bands at the Festival next summer.

Snarky Puppy won Best Contemporary Instrumental Album with their latest work, Empire Central. They are set to perform on July 12 at the Arena Santa Giuliana.

Stewart Copeland won Best Immersive Audio Album (Divine Tides). He will be on the main stage of UJ50 on July 14 with his project “Police Deranged for Orchestra” with the UJ Orchestra and the Orchestra da Camera di Perugia.
