Jamie Cullum concert scheduled for July 12 at UJ21 postponed to 2022. On July 12, Bokanté and Cécile McLorin Salvant with Sullivan Fortner will perform at the Arena. Refund applications can be submitted until June 30, 2021, through the ticket purchase channels.

Bokanté at #UJ21

The word Bokanté means “exchange” is Creole. This name explains the trait d’union between the musicians of this band which is one of the most interesting ensembles in recent years.
“A multilingual, multicultural, and multi-generational band” says Michael League, Snarky Puppy leader, who met with Canadian vocalist Malika Tirolien, born in Guadalupe. The two had the idea to form a band to tell the tragedies arising from racism, the refugee crisis, the pollution crisis through groove and melody.
A distinguished group of musicians joined League and Tirolien, including Bob Lanzetti (Snarky Puppy), percussionist Jamey Haddad (Paul Simon, Sting), pedal steel guitarist Roosevelt Collier. Their second album “What Heat” was released in 2018 and recorded with the Metropole Orkest, conducted by Jules Buckley. The album was produced by Peter Gabriel’s record label, Real World Records. Their first album, “Strange Circles” was released in 2017.
