Featuring Joe Satriani and Steve Vai
For the first time in over fifty years of career, Joe Satriani and Steve Vai join forces to form the SatchVai Band. Besides the G3 project, they started working together last spring for a series of concerts in the USA and then decided to form a band together and take this new winning formula to the stages worldwide.
The Sea of Emotion, Pt. 1 came out last March. This track represents the synergy between these guitar giants, which started many years ago when Satriani was Vai’s guitar teacher.
Key figures of rock music of the last 40 years are part of their careers: Steve Vai has played with Frank Zappa, Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourne, David Lee Roth, Alcatraz, and Whitesnake, while Satriani in known for his work with G3, Chickenfoot, Deep Purple, and The Greg Kuhn Band.
Lee Ritenour
Born in 1952, Lee Ritenour has had a remarkable career spanning over fifty years: 45 albums, one Grammy Award, and nineteen nominations. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with music legends such as The Mamas & the Papas (he was only 16), Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, Dizzy Gillespie, Sonny Rollins, Simon & Garfunkel, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Phil Collins, and notable Brazilian artists like Ivan Lins, Caetano Veloso, and Djavan.
A founding member of the supergroup Fourplay, this LA-based guitarist has successfully blended jazz, rock, Brazilian rhythms, and fusion, creating a unique style as shown by his latest two works: “Dreamcatcher” (2020), which is his only solo guitar record, and “Brasil”, recorded in São Paulo in 2023 alongside various Brazilian artists.
