
Umbria Jazz: the full program of the Arena Santa Giuliana and the Teatro Morlacchi
Umbria Jazz unveils the great names who will be performing at the Arena Santa Giuliana. Exceptional voices will make this edition truly unforgettable: African diva Angélique Kidjo, Dianne Reeves with her unique jazz and R&B style, Samara Joy’s elegance, Ledisi’s multifaceted talents, Gregory Porter, Kurt Elling & Yellowjackets, as well as Lionel Richie and Mika. There are also significant jazz musicians: Herbie Hancock, Stefano Bollani – with his new band – Kamasi Washington, and Candy Dulfer. Completing the lineup are Thee Sacred Souls, young interpreters of a sound moving between soul and groove, and I Patagarri, with their joyful and engaging gypsy jazz style.
Jazz music has always been the heart of the program at the Teatro Morlacchi. Top-class performers will be the protagonists of this venue: Isaiah Collier, Sullivan Fortner, Johnathan Blake, Jazzmeia Horn, Immanuel Wilkins, Mark Turner, and Ambrose Akinmusire. Italian jazz music will be best represented by Enrico Rava – dueting with Fred Hersch – and Paolo Fresu, featuring Omar Sosa. Two tributes will complete the program: Oscar Peterson Centennial, featuring John Clayton, Jeff Hamilton and Sullivan Fortner, and Remembering Ray Brown, featuring Christian McBride, Benny Green and Gregory Hutchinson.
