Umbria Jazz Winter: the concerts at the Teatro Mancinelli
The concerts at the Teatro Mancinelli represent the heart of Umbria Jazz Winter.
The spotlight is on Paolo Fresu, on stage with his trio (with Dino Rubino and Marco Bardoscia), with the Devil Quartet,
and with a project that will see him supported, in trio and quartet, also by Bebo Ferra, Paolino Dalla Porta e Stefano Bagnoli.
A new production by the Umbria Jazz Orchestra with Ethan Iverson, who has arranged a repertoire of great film music. This is an exclusive of UJW. From America come the trio of Joel Ross, the latest star of the vibraphone, with Jermaine Paul and Jeremy Dutton, and the piano trios of Ethan Iverson, with Thomas Morgan and Kush Abadey, and Emmet Cohen, with Philip Norris and Kyle Poole.
Twenty-five-year-old Cameroonian-American singer Ekep Nkwelle is the new revelation among female jazz vocalists and will perform with Luther S. Ellison, Jeremiah Edwards and Nazir Ebo. The Benedict Gospel Choir will perform on New Year’s Eve.
The full festival program will be online on November 7.
